[Playlist] SCHIZOMAXXING
i found this playlist advertised on /vg/ for some reason. it has some overlap with the experimental trance/sextrance playlist i linked further down but i guess a bit more breakcore focused and it branches out a bit into adjacent genres. check it out or at the very least listen to GENGAR ECSTACY by Kaizo Slumber
[Site] What the heck *is* emo, anyway?
so of late i have been clicking through old angelfire sites, which has been a charming and beautiful experience overall. one of the sites that ive enjoyed clicking through the most is fourfa.com which puts forward one mans perspective on the emergence and defining moments of emo as a genre. as far as i can tell most of this was written in the late 90s. as someone who grew up in the black parade days i have enjoyed learning about the history of a genre i love and getting a deeper understanding of its evolution by listening to the records recommended on this site. the author picture is one of the best images ive ever seen. my favourite song so far that ive found through this site is I'm Back Sleeping Or Fucking Or Something by Moss Icon
how do i start a new line in this um so you could listen to all the songs on that website as a nice little primer to the very early emergence of emo and then after you could go on
The 100 Greatest Emo Songs of All Time to hear/read about how emo evolved in the following decades and that article has some really nice writing in it too
